Orchestra
Giovanile Veronese
(OGV) is a cultural association born in 2000. We
turn our interests to different activities:
 |
With the contribution of Verona Town Council, Department
of Education, the OGV has started a propaedeutic
musical project in the public primary school. Within
the school timetable, some children can learn to play
violin or cello; other students can take part in the
school chorus. In this project are primarily involved
schools with a large number of students from immigrant
families. |
 |
Every year OGV organizes a Summer Musical Stage for
Young Musicians; during ten days, the young
musicians can live together in a “villa veneta” near
Verona, preparing a concert to accompany an original
silent film. The 2006 Stage’s subject was D’ENERGIA,
a movie-concert about natural energy resources and their
exploitation by human race. In 2007, O. of Love,
Music and Rightness, about the myth of Orpheus.
|
 |
Thanks to the contribution of musicians, composers and
theatre artists, OGV sets up musical performances which
talk about children’s world. In 2006 was prepared IQBAL OPERA, a musical show about Iqbal Masih, the
Pakistani boy who became the symbol of fight against
child slavery. The opera was played in May for a school
audience, at the end of an educational project about
chid labour. OGV also took part in the organization of
the Child Labour Conference, which was held in
Verona on December 11, with the intervention of Verona
University (Department of Economics), ILO, UNICEF, MLAL
(Lay Movement for Latin America), BLLF (Bonded Labour
Liberation Front). For this occasion IQBAL OPERA was
played at Philharmonic Theatre of Verona. |
